9 lives or more..

by   lapurr ,  Feb 11, 2007
Pros: Doesnt die, good gas milage, ease to work on, cheap to maintain
Cons: RUST!!!!!!! Paint Fade, door seals.
The Bottom Line: Buy em cheap, run em into the ground, repair, or replace them. You will always come out ahead with these little cars.
Review: I was looking to buy a car for my room mate who had come down on some hard times. I found this little ugly car on a car club I am a member, and now moderator of http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/ group/the6000club/ . There is alot to say about this car. I ...

Very Sturdy And Dependable Car!

by   fuzziedice ,  Oct 31, 2004
Pros: Strong engine, rides/handles very well, low maintenance by comparison.
Cons: Occasional TCC lockups, ECM Problems, headliner sags.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this car if you're looking for a good used car. Generally the Pontiac 6000's are very reliable, ride and handle well.
Review: I've had my Pontiac 6000 for 4 years before rust got to it and I decided to start restoring it. I kept up with oil changes and minimum maintenance. It was bought for $750 and had over 143,000 miles on it. My friends and I thought it'd last maybe a year ...

My Second Car..

by   MidnightHour ,  Jul 8, 2000
Pros: Rugged!!!!!
Cons: Bad starter, Replaced many times. Slow. Gas hog.
Review: I flipped it end over end three times, nearly hitting a tree. Three passengers and myself crawled out of the vehicle without a scratch and called a Tow truck. He turned it over, pulled it back to the road, and I drove it away. It didn't even need an...

Strong Performance. Decent Fuel Economy.Bland "Badge-Engineered" Design

by   nebtek2002 ,  Mar 24, 2006
Pros: Easy maintenance. Reliable, once minor electrical problem and fuel pump issues resolved.
Cons: Outrageously-expensive headlamp assemblies! Generic badge-engineered looks.
The Bottom Line: If you can find the "Landau Edition, trash the roof vinyl and enjoy the velour. Buy a parts car with intact headlamps.
Review: In 2001, I needed something for my youngest child to drive to work and back. This car looked pretty solid. It had surface rust, mainly consisting of some crusty-looking door bottoms, but no holes. The 2.5-liter throttle-body-fuel-injected 4 and THM ...

I'm really going to miss this car

by   heathers_mom ,  Mar 14, 2000
Pros: VERY roomy, have gotten more years out of it than I expected
Cons: only that I am going to have to let it go soon
Review: In 1995 I had just received my driving license and was just about to graduate high school. It was either buy a car or walk to college everyday. (Where I wanted to go was too far away for a bus ride.) My father had a friend of his look around and he...
