Can Rock Save Our Souls?

by   PacManY2J , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Oct 7, 2007
Pros: Great mix of rock and country
Cons: The one rap-rock song doesn't fit very well on this album
The Bottom Line: Kid Rock's best album yet
Review: You knew it was coming. Ever since Kid Rock's late-'90s rap-rock sensation Devil Without a Cause spawned the surprise, Skynyrd-esque hit "Only God Knows Why," it was inevitable that his music would eventually lean at least a little bit toward a ...

Rock 'N Roll Jesus: The Stone Cold Pimp Gives 'Cocky' A New Meaning

by   Freak369 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Oct 8, 2007
Pros: A swift departure from the classic Kid Rock signature sound ...
Cons: A few tracks that weren't ready for release.
The Bottom Line: Finger licking good .. and the CD is pretty good too.
Review: Kid Rock is one of my guilty pleasures; sure, I'll admit it, he's been around more than a few blocks and has a panache for strippers, weed and sex but hey, I'll do something that I rarely do - quote the bible. "Let those without sin cast the ...

Rock N Roll White Trash, and that Ain’t a Bad Thing!

by   pcomsec ,  Jul 31, 2008
Pros: Only 2 songs that made my ears bleed.
Cons: Too many "F" bombs in 2 songs to listen to at 4:30 a.m.
The Bottom Line: All in all, I’d say this is my favorite Kid Rock cd.
Review: Let me say I’ve reviewed maybe one cd before and I got SLAMMED. I am NOT a music critic. I do NOT follow music with a passion. I do NOT play an instrument. I simply know what I like and what I do not like. So with that being said, here I go.... ...

Kid Rock: Rock and Roll Jesus or false prophet?

by   Monnie1976 ,  Mar 18, 2009
Pros: Heart and soul, a gritty delivery, true to his image, he keeps you listening.
Cons: Crude and a bit immature at times.  "New Orleans" flounders despite his best effort.
The Bottom Line: Kid Rock is Kid Rock. Take the good, you take the bad and see him the talented, frustrated adolescent trapped in a musically apt grown man's body he is.
Review: Kid Rock exploded onto the scene in 1998 when he released his big label debut Devil Without A Cause. Taking a healthy dose of trailer park mentality, thundering rock and more than a sprinkle of rap he actually managed to make his own entity apart from ...

"Rock N Roll Jesus": Kid Rock turns out to be just another false prophet

by   mcheadcase ,  Dec 9, 2007
Pros: A few excellent songs keep this record from being a complete waste.
Cons: Little originality; Rock borrows too much from his influences; still no concise musical direction.
The Bottom Line: 2 Stars: Kid Rock fails at attempting a 'timeless rock and roll record', and puts the final nail in his career.
Review: I tried to like this album. I really wanted to. But I just couldn't.... Kid Rock is one of those artists that everyone just loves to hate. And even though I'm a longtime fan of the guy, I'd say that they have valid reasons to hate him: he's an ...
