Probably one of the best Wagons you can get!

by   bromo33333 ,  May 2, 2003
Pros: Nimble, Quick, Comfortable, Not Everyone Has One, Roomy, Good Mileage
Cons: Fit and Finish, Wile E. Coyote depreciation.
The Bottom Line: Saab is an excellent car, offering sporty, practical transportation.
Review: The Saab 9-5 Aero Sportwagon is a good balance of handling, roominess, price and power in this thinly populated segment. Shopping: When compared to its competitors in price (Audi A4 Avant, Volvo V70 T5, BMW 325 Wagon) the Saab stands out, not as ...

A great bargain in the luxury sport wagon market

by   gan1812 ,  Oct 9, 2003
Pros: Seats, performance, looks
Cons: turbo lag, depreciation
The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for sport wagon, look at the Saab. Arguably the best wagon in the market between $30,000 - $40,000
Review: Why i chose Saab - I had decided to get a sport wagon and had narrowed it down to the volvo v70 T5, passat w-8 and the saab 9-5 aero. While each of these cars were good, what swayed me over to the saab was the looks of the car (i got a ferrari red wagon), ...

A wagon to keep you grinning ear to ear.

by   igbognar ,  Mar 20, 2003
Pros: Power, Handling, Style, Price
Cons: Interior fit and finish
The Bottom Line: Drive it and you'll almost certainly buy it. It's a sportscar for guys with families.
Review: This car was a real surprise. We outgrew our VW Passat Sedan recently...in need of a wagon. We looked at everything from a new Passat wagon to an E series Mercedes. Always drove by the Saab dealership without a second thought. We had almost settled on an...

It feels sooooo great!

by   lillapluttan ,  Jul 3, 2005
Pros: Safety, Value, Reliability, Attitude, Individuality, Easy-to-get to engine and parts
Cons: Annoying blinker noise, quirky cup holders, cheap looking gear box, expensive to repair.
The Bottom Line: Best all around value anywhere. Period.
Review: First off, this is a car that has all the bells and whistles anyone could ever want at a price giving the best value in town. Especially used. I would never buy a new vehicle of any kind, so I went to the car lot after my husband's pickup truck was ...

Good Car with minor quirks

by   rsunico ,  Jun 13, 2008
Pros: Great gas mileage (highway), reliability, not too many on road. Snow traction.
Cons: Occasional weird electrical quirks - not uncommon in european makes
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended. If cared for will treat you quite well.
Review: I have a 2003 9-5 ARC (V6 turbo). Comfortable, reliable. It does have its little quirks that come with age. Occassionally I see the airbag light flash for a second.. this happens once every 2-3 months and does not worry me. I have had issues with the SID ...

Bargain Luxury

by   jsh1120 ,  Aug 22, 2004
Pros: Looks. Interior design. Great engine/transmission combination. Best turbo management around. Solid feeling construction.
Cons: Silly single cupholder. No AWD.
Review: Needed a vehicle to replace an aging 850 Volvo and carry the family dog. Winter skiing and Pacific Northwest weather were also factors. SUV? Not our style so a wagon was the alternative. Looked carefully at the Subaru Legacy and Outback and the Volvo V70 ...

A Scandanavian gem!

by   svtben ,  Jan 13, 2009
Pros: Looks, quick acceleration, agile, safe, roomy, reliable, comfortable, great fuel economy.
Cons: Torque steer, bad cupholder.
The Bottom Line: A popular choice for the Northeast (U.S.).  A great performer in all weather conditions.
Review: I bought this car used from a local dealer.  It was in a slightly worn condition.  There was a dent in the front, the carpet had stains and the driver's side mirror had yellow paint transfer marks.  I saw through all the imperfections ...

Substantial, fun highway car but no sports car.

by   yakimaglenn ,  Sep 3, 2003
Pros: Stable, fast, comfortable, roomy and fairly agile
Cons: Torque steer, understeer, turbo lag
The Bottom Line: If you want a sports car with 4 doors in this price range, get an IS300 or 330i; if you want a fast, fun sedan, you'll enjoy the 9-5.
Review: My wife and I recently bought a new 2003 9-5 Aero Sedan (5 speed) after a fairly comprehensive searc ...

A Swedish-American Innovation

by   luckydoc ,  Feb 27, 2003
Pros: Great interior and loaded with a long list of safety features.
Cons: Somewhat noisy when driving on the highway.
The Bottom Line: I did enjoy driving for 5 days. It is an excellent automobile and I recommend it without hesitation
Review: Saab Aero 9-5 2003

A Swedish-American Innovation

A few years ago General Motors took full control of Saab. Until then General Motors was a co-owner of this European automobile manufacturer.

Looking for quick results and...

"Lemon Tree, Very Pretty . . ."

by   old_saabs ,  Aug 19, 2003
Pros: Comfortable and a pleasure to drive -- when it works.
Cons: The least reliable car I've owned in 20 years.
The Bottom Line: Stay away. When the car works, its a pleasure to drive and own. It rarely works perfectly, though, and regularly fails to work at all.
Review: Not since my 1982 Renault LeCar has a car left me stranded at the side of the road so often. In 25, ...
