Above average product

by   webandnet ,  Mar 21, 2001
Pros: stylish, comfortable, good sound suppression
Cons: Does not suppress very low frequency, mediocre sound, expensive, difficult to store.
The Bottom Line: If $150 isn't expensive, then this unit is a good product. If $150 is expensive, then this unit is not a good value.
Review: I've used three noise suppression headphones--Koss, Sennheiser, and Recton, and tested at the store about 10. For comfort and style, Sennheiser is tops. For sound suppression and sound quality, Koss is best.

One characteristic I would...

Good attenuation in noisy environs

by   spackard ,  Oct 8, 2002
Pros: Very good NC
Cons: Don't sound good in quiet environment; they'll buffet in a breeze
The Bottom Line: Recommend them if you know and understand the noisy environment they're intended to be used in.
Review: I've owned the Noisebuster and the Sony NC headphones, and bought these to replace a B/O Noisebuster.
I needed a pair to hear quiet music while going for a walk on noisy streets. These work adequately for that purpose. For my noisy office (lots of...

A Traveler's Dream!

by   cmullins70 ,  Jun 25, 2000
Pros: Very comfortable, lightweight. ANR works extremely well.
Cons: "Black Box" could have been designed better.
Review: This is one of those products, that when you read the description, you say to yourself "Yeah, right.",but the first time you flip the switch on these headphones, your eyes will light up like a little kid. The technology behind the active noise...

They work ! and they don't sound too bad

by   dboreham ,  Apr 27, 2000
Pros: they work
Cons: cord rather short
Review: I bought these headphones by accident:
I'd gone into the store to get a decent pair of bud 'phones to use at the
office while programming.
The store was completely out of quality bud 'phones, but they did have
some noise canceling...

Excellent low-cost noise reducing headphones, bad durability

by   lugh ,  May 12, 2006
Pros: Low cost, good quality sound
Cons: Bad durability, no carrying case
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend these only if you can't pay for a better version. While the sound quality is good, what good does it do if it breaks?
Review: I got the Sennheiser HDC 451 headphones because I travel quite a bit via airplane and was looking for a pair of headphones that would cancel out some of the noise from the plane. The Bose headphones, while second-to-none, were a bit expensive at around ...

Good noise attenuation, but poor overall sound.

by   nhunt ,  Apr 25, 2002
Pros: Decent construction, comfortable. Noise reduction in line with competing brand headphones.
Cons: Sound quality is much worse than competing active NR headphones.
The Bottom Line: Way too pricey for mediocre quality sound.
Review: As a one-time frequent coast-to-coast traveller, I invested in several sets of active noise reduction headphones in the quest for the most relaxing trips. When I saw these phones advertised recently, I couldn't resist checking out the Sennheiser entry...

These things don't sond that good

by   ericpete ,  Jul 9, 2000
Pros: The best noise canceling
Cons: Bad sound quality, Not loud enough, Bad battery placement,
Review: I purchased these headphones because of my previous experience Sennheiser. I was disappointed by their sound quality. They were ok when there wasn't much background noise, but when there was they sounded terrible. I work in a software-testing lab...
