Pros: Smartly written, and directed, superbly acted.

Cons: Sub-titles!

The Bottom Line: Sub-titles notwithstanding, I thoroughly enjoyed Sex and Lucia and I highly recommend it; prude or not.

Cons: Artsy style and structure doesn't fully mask rather pedestrian story (though few viewers will care)

Pros: Extremely erotic. Terrific performances. Sometimes dreamlike cinematography. The sexy Paz Vega nude.

Cons: 2nd half of film is somewhat disjointed. Ending wasn't completely satisfactory.

The Bottom Line: Intriguing but not excellent, imaginative but not genius, "Sex and Lucia" impresses if you can forgive plot manipulation and appreciate symbolism and setting.
