I've had great results with the XR-10X

by   kitalet ,  Nov 27, 2006
Pros: Good picture and bulb life.
Cons: Sharp isn't interested in selling any projector lamps.
Review: I'm happy with the XR-10X I purchased from Sam's Club a year ago. Great picture and no problems. I've used it primarily for a home theater with a TV tuner and 108 in. screen. My only complaint is with Sharp customer service. Good luck trying to buy a ...

Pros: Lumens-2000, Contrast-2000, Resolution XGA/SXGA,Picture size (Short Throw Zoom Lens)
Cons: DLP technology, bulb life only 3000 hour. Replacement Lamp is about ~$299.
Review: I just bought Sharp XR-10X from Sams Club for $899 tax. I have been searching for a high Lumens Contrast Resolution projector for more than a year. I have tried HP, Infocus and Epson. I have been using an old LP730 Infocus projector for long time, which ...

Good for Office Use

by   pabucksguy ,  Jun 22, 2007
Pros: bright picture
Cons: bulky, expensive
The Bottom Line: good for stationary office user, not recommended for home use or travel
Review: I have only had my Sharp XR-10X projector for about 2 months. We use it a couple times a week for about one or two hours at a time. I am using it as a projector for mainly powerpoint presentations, not for movies or multimedia. The good: The picture ...

Good Pros, terrible cons

by   deewan77 ,  Apr 22, 2008
Pros: For the price, good stats and a great picture
Cons: Known firmware issue that causes bulb to explode well before it should.
The Bottom Line: I won't not buy this again and after dealing with Sharp, won't buy Sharp products again.
Review: I had this projector for $900 about 2 years. My first thoughts of this projector were amazing. I could not believe that I could get a 120 inch picture in HD on my wall. Even just showing the movies on a white wall inside was impressive. The ...

I returned my Sharp XR- X10 Multimedia Projector to Sam 's after a weeks trial.

by   puguho ,  Feb 25, 2006
Pros: Price $900) for 2000 lumens and 2000 contrast ratio.
Cons: Manual focus, lens shift, and zoom. Brightness and contrast
Review: 02-25-06, I purchased an xr-10 about a week ago and returned it sam's after giving it a fair try. I should say that I also have a Sanyo PLV-70 ( 2200 lumens, 900:1 CR, wide XGA (1366x768) resolution), that I bought in Oct. 2002. This is an awesome ...

Great Picture - Terrible Service

by   bobbyfromva ,  Dec 5, 2005
Pros: Picture quality, ease of set-up, warranty (I thought), price.
Cons: Terrible 3 pixel failure warranty policy.
The Bottom Line: If it were not for Sharp's bad service this would be a great deal. Now I know to ask before I buy, just what does the warranty REALLY cover?
Review: I got this from a local warehouse store (Sam's Club)for $899, and considering the great quality of the picture and the easy set-up, I could not have been happier with it. That is until after about 5 weeks when a pixel went bad, right in the middle of the ...

Piece of crap

by   texasm3 ,  Apr 10, 2006
Pros: None
Cons: Poor quality
Review: My XR-10X died after about 200 hours of use. Despite being used in a controlled environment (with very good ventilation), Sharp told me that the lamp went out because it wasn't getting any air. It's not under warranty and the total cost for repair is ...

Very poor bulb life Sharp XR-10X

by   techdatanow ,  Oct 31, 2006
Pros: Cheap; can be mounted upside down with appropriate hardware.
Cons: Very poor, unacceptable bulb life.
Review: After using the projector for less than 150 hours over 8 months in a normal home environment the lamp failed to light. This is totally unacceptable and probably due to bad cooling engineering. I have since found other complaints regarding lamp life. ...

Sharp XR-10X died after 3 month of use

by   sharpxr10x ,  Jul 15, 2006
Pros: Hign resolution, low price
Cons: very low lifetime and bad customer service
Review: My XR-10X also died after about 3 months of use. I only used 10% off the lamp. It's not under warranty and the total cost for repair is very high. I would also recommend staying very far away from Sharp products. Their customer service really ...
