Pros: smartly-crafted, enjoyable for everyone
Cons: needs more wrestling scenes
The Bottom Line: DISCLAIMER: If you are prepared to bust a gut, then go watch this movie. You will walk away a better person... and a full bladder.
Review: "Once Upon A Time
"
These words are so familiar to us whenever we think of fairy tales, and the formula seems to be a winner: "a beautiful princess is envied by her wicked step-mother, princess is put to sleep through... |

Pros: Shrek-simply wonderful entertainment-a must see movie
Cons: A few of the musical interludes seemed to miss the target.
The Bottom Line: I'll take the Beast for 200, Alex! And while you're at it, can you throw in a toothbrush?
Review: At the end of the classic tale, "The Wizard of Oz", amidst the whirlwind twister damage and broken beams, the Tinman, The Lion and The Scarecrow stand over Dorothy's bed gazing down at their Princess. Is she alive? Is she happy? Will she take that silly...

Once Upon a Time, There Lived a Perfect Movie Named Shrek |
|||
|
Pros: Easily outdoes Disney in the family entertainment arena in the summer's (perhaps, year's) best entertainment
Cons: None...unless you're a Grimm brother on Disney's board of executives
The Bottom Line: The computer animation is eye-popping, the songs are infectious and the jokes are smart...but it's the heartfelt story that sets Shrek apart from most "kids' movies."
Review: Lets get one thing straight from the get-go: Shrek is not a kids movie.
Its an everyone movie. The computer-animated fairy tale based on William Steigs book is one of those rare cinematic snacks that will taste good to all... |

Fill your fairy-tale fantasies with Shrek |

|
Pros: The movie.
Cons: I wasn't always laughing.
The Bottom Line: A funny film.
Review: Every now and then, one must temporarily retire from a film. Either his family has watched it too much, he has watched it too much, or hes just plain sick of the movie. In my case, with Shrek, it was the most former. My family, as Ive said ...

Pros: Great writing, fantastic animation and good voiceover acting
Cons: Advertising might lead to belief that small children will like the movie-they won't
The Bottom Line: A moovie fer most of the famly, this here moovie is sum kinda funny with a talkin' dunkey and a green oger.
Review: I are back. Mike.Holmes thinks I are crazy to revue a moovie that 158 peeple have dun revued but I reely related to Mr. Shrek. He reminds me of a cousin of mine from the Ozarka area in Arkansaw. I are colorblind as well as being a lefthanded falter...

Pros: One of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen.
Cons: It ends.
The Bottom Line: This is what can happen when movie technology is used the right way: An instant classic.
Review: Here I gush. Have you ever felt that rare and satisfying little 'click' that occurs when you fall in love with a new movie? It doesn't happen often at all, but I experienced it last week as I sat and watched the new cinematic triumph from Dreamworks...

Will The Real Ogre Please Stand Up? |
|||
|
Pros: Beautiful marriage of animation and comedy
Cons: Very sensitive people will not appreciate some of the humor
The Bottom Line: Shrek sets a new standard for computer animation. Many live action features seem cartoonish by comparison.
Review: Last year, when I saw "Dinosaur," I was very impressed by the very realistic computer graphics, but was left unimpressed by the story. This year, the folks at Dreamworks created a similar feature in "Shrek," but in this case, the story was equal to the...

Pros: A delightful and clever satire full of laughs. It will leave you smiling.
Cons: None that I could find.
The Bottom Line: Great lifelike animation. You learn to love the ogre and the donkey steals the show. You'll go home happy. What's better?
Review: Once upon a time a tiny lord of a tiny land decided to become king by marrying a beautiful princess. He didn't count on two things, the princess's spunk and Shrek.
Shrek finds it easy being green. Green, smelly and gross...Shrek goes through... |

Pros: Computer animation, voice characterization, makes you feel like a kid again
Cons: may be unsuitable for kids under age 8
The Bottom Line: It is a great feel good movie and worth the price of admission for Eddie Murphy alone.
Review: Have you read your child a fairy tale lately?..you know the kind that have good versus evil, a long suffering princess, a knight in a shiny suit of armor, how about throwing in a fire breathing dragon..your typical fairy tale.
