Pros: Replaceable memory card, Sound quality, Small,
Cons: Expensive, buggy software, Battery life
The Bottom Line: Replaceable memory card alone makes this the best player. It does what it supposed to do really well.
Review: This recorder is great for anyone who doesn't need high end features. I use this to record my class lecture. I used to have one of those microcassette recorder. It was really annoying to use tape. I constantly have to buy more and more tapes. And ...

Pros: voice activated recording, large capacity memory stick, speech recognition
Cons: supplied leather carrying case has velcro belt attachment that doesn't hold
The Bottom Line: This voice activated recorder is worth the price for anyone who wants a highly portable and high capacity voice to text capability.
Review: This little sucker hums. It has transformed my daily driving time into something I look forward to. I use a monaural headset with the earpiece plugged into a tape player to listen to Teaching Company tapes, and the mic plugged into the MS515VTP. To...

Pros: size, sound quality, software bundle, reliability, power consumption, hold button
Cons: unified button easy to mis-press, hard to change folders
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this if you are planning to use it mainly for capture. The size and sound quality are great.
Review: I got this mainly to record my kids in the playroom, at a restaurant, whining, etc. This may sound ...

Pros: Memory Stick, Portable, Digital, interfaces easily with my VAIO PC
Cons: Functions I probably will not use, Price, no MP3 player, no AC adapter capabilities
The Bottom Line: Decent product if you want Memory Stick technology in a voice recorder.
Review: I bought this device to record my music lessons so that I do not have to take notes. I looked at a number of cheaper models of voice recorders, but decided on this because of previous good experiences with Sony products and because the Memory Stick...

A neat little unit with a frustrating "jog lever" and play button

Pros: small,sexy
Cons: HATE the "jog lever"
The Bottom Line: It is a neat little unit, but I became very frustrated with the "play/jog lever" design - needed to find just the right touch to choose a setting.
Review: The sound from this little unit is great. Overall it is easy enough to learn. The "jog lever" selection button wears on my last nerve. I renamed folders and tried to press the jog lever to set the name and many times closed out of the menu option...

Pros: Full editing functionality both on the voice recorder and on the PC, small size
Cons: Poorly designed buttons, lack of high quality recordings
The Bottom Line: The uncomfortable operation and the lack of high sound quality make it fail as a pro voice recorder.
Review: I had a lot of expectations regarding the Sony MS-515, on the feature list, it nearly had everything I wished for. However, when in hand, many things disappointed me about this device. My first major complaint is the poorly designed ...

Pros: Compact
Excellent editing controls
Cons: Horrible Play-button design
The Bottom Line: Sadly, I cannot recommend this terrific recorder because of what seems to be a stupid design flaw.
Review: I have been a long time purchaser of Sony digital voice recorders. I can't quite remember the first ICD model I purchased, but I do remember that I eventually upgraded that one to an ICD-55 (which now resides on my nightstand). I eventually upgraded...
