A versatile general purpose 5MP camera, that records to mini CD-R/RW discs.

by   aashok , top reviewer in Electronics at Epinions.com ,  Apr 9, 2003
Pros: 5 Megapixels, records to mini CD-R/RW discs, Carl Zeiss lens.
Cons: Only 3x zoom, large size.
The Bottom Line: This is a well designed general-purpose, consumer oriented camera. ItÂ’s numerous customizable functions and features, far outweigh the only two limiting factors, namely size and the 3x zoom.
Review: Why did I buy it?
My wife, who is a real estate agent, needed a digital camera to take pictures of her real estate listings. She wanted to be able to have her office staff use those pictures to quickly design and print brochures. After some...

I don't understand cameras at all...but this was just too easy!

by   erikausaf ,  Mar 27, 2004
Pros: Surprisingly easy to use. Excellent quality for the price.
Cons: I'm too lazy to use the camera to it's endless potential.
The Bottom Line: Easy enough for a beginner but (my photographer mother says) definite professional quality.
Review: I must admit, I often buy things impulsively. But 99% of the time, I love what I buy whether I need it or not. I returned this camera the same day I bought it!! I bought the 4.0 megapixal Sony Mavica first and then saw the 5.0 megapixal online that ...

Sony Mavica, getting better every year!

by   eropuit ,  Sep 10, 2003
Pros: superb crispy optics, 5 meg pictures, full VGA mpeg
Cons: microphone location, programming of VGA
The Bottom Line: Inexpensive and foolproof recording medium. The recording on CD-R's makes it a very flexible and safe camera. Freecom's have 210 MB and cost half the price of Sony 156 MB's.
Review: The CD500 is a superb camera that works very well even in severe Icelandic weather! Superb optics, 5 ...

Love Love Love this camera!

by   xangeleyesx ,  Dec 23, 2004
Pros: Everything! It looks good and works even better!
Cons: It's kind of expensive, but well worth the price.

Excellent camera

by   phr3d ,  May 15, 2006
Pros: Sony quality, lens, large LCD, long battery life
Cons: Expensive
Review: I have owned this camera for at least 2 years now and I love its advanced features. The only real problem I have had with it is that the little plastic black thing that the CD clips into has actually loosened itself from the support and without the disc, ...

Great camera! Well worth the money!

by   wsanders_70 ,  Feb 19, 2004
Pros: Stores pictures and mpegs directly to mini cdr/cdrw. Plenty of options for novice or pro.
Cons: Might be a little big for women with dainty hands.

GREAT CAMERA, GREAT PICTURES!

by   obadote ,  Aug 8, 2005
Pros: Wonderful pictures. This is a camera for all.
Cons: Zoom is small, only 3X
Review: I just bought this camera and used it for two weeks now. I have taken about 200 pictures. They are all great! The 5.0mp FINE setting gave a wonderful 16 x 20 prints. I took a picture of a popular Rock in this part of Nigeria called "JUJU ROCK" in the ...

Five Stars and NO SOFTWARE PROBLEMS

by   adhdadoption ,  May 11, 2004
Pros: Excellent picture quality, economical and easy to use storage, long battery life, affordable price
Cons: None
Review: A previous reviewer gave this one star because of the PIXELA software. I'll bet he's running Windows XP, and you DON'T INSTALL THE SOFTWARE when you have XP. I figured it out after about ten minutes, I don't what his problem is but it's his problem, ...
