Pros: Sparkling dialogue; memorable, full-bodied characters; Adam Sandler as a real adult
Cons: Pace is a little leisurely at first, but wait for it
The Bottom Line: That rare movie with flawed but human characterization; no big revelations, just real-life-like
Review: I never thought I'd join the following sentences together, but here goes: Spanglish is one of the best movies of the year. And it stars Adam Sandler. I won't belabor my previous thoughts about Sandler, but what a refreshing treat it is to ...

Pros: Well written, great story.
Cons: If you don't know spanish you may be confused at some points.
The Bottom Line: I really enjoyed this movie - well written, good laughs.
Review: I thought this would be a love story especially when the guy at Blockbuster told me he loved it and he was truly a hopeless romantic. Little did I know that the love story would be more about the love between a mother and her daughter. I have a ...

Pros: Adam Sandler, Paz Vega, Tea Leoni
Cons: Nothing
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone who loves Adam Sandler because he's truly at his finest in this movie.
Review: =Genre= Drama, Romance, Comedy =Plot= John Clasky loves to cook. He's one of the best cooks there is and he has enough money to get his family anything they desire. When an immigrant woman named Flor comes to him looking for work, he hires her as ...

Tea Leoni and Adam Sandler Share a Humorous Sex Scene in Spanglish |
|||
|
Pros: Cast
Cons: Too many things going on. No real resolution to anything.
The Bottom Line: Spanglish isn't for everyone, but I found it entertaining. It is worth seeing, especially for fans of the cast.
Review: The movie Spanglish received a lot of hype before its release to theaters, mostly because it was written and directed by James L. Brooks. The last movie he made, As Good As It Gets, received critical acclaim and won many awards. ...

Pros: Cast, especially Sandler and Steele; funny and poignant scenes; some good messages
Cons: Uneven tone and pace; slightly heavy-handed narration. Fairly forgettable score.
The Bottom Line: The storyline seems to mimic the dysfunction and confusion the actors portray. But if you're prepared for a bumpy ride, there's much here to enjoy!
Review: It's hard to know what to make of the 2004 film Spanglish. My husband and I recently decided to see it based on the recommendation of some friends who assured us it was great. We had almost no knowledge of the film at all going in, which I'm ...

Hay una flor en Spanglish Harlem |

|
Pros: Awesome acting, fun atmosphere, unpredictable as all getout, nice humor
Cons: Icky first impression, many things don't get resolved, Tea Leoni's character
The Bottom Line: Spanglish is a bizarre blend, a curious concoction, a dubious delivery, an eclectic entree, a fragmented feature, a gratifying getaway, a helluva heartbreaker.
Review: Usually, you can spot a mainstream, feel-good family movie from 30 miles away. Or so I thought, until Mom and I put our eyes upon Spanglish, the weirdest normal movie of that whole crazy year. This here's the story of a father who's probably ...

Pros: Great acting, strong message, entertaining movie.
Cons: Some cultural difference may be missed.
The Bottom Line: Great film that has a strong commentary on American culture. Very good acting from the cast. Somethings may be missed because of cultural differences.
Review: *Spoiler alert* In this film John Clasky (Adam Sandler) plays an award winning chef living with his wife Deborah Clasky (Tea Leoni) who is a neurotic and self-centered woman. Flor Moreno (Paz Vega) leaves Mexico with her daughter to the U.S. to ...

Pros: Tea Leoni, Paz Vega, Adam Sandler; strong acting ensemble; direction; environment; originality of script
Cons: plot; duration; lack of clear purpose
The Bottom Line: The meticulously crafted dramedy "Spanglish" is saved by three excellent performances by Tea Leoni, Paz Vega, and Adam Sandler
Review: Here we have a film that is carried by a strong acting ensemble shuffling through a hazy plotline. The performances essentially save the film, which seems, at times, to not know where it's heading and drags. "Spanglish" was written and directed by James ...

Pros: substantial plot, great performance by Tea and Adam, both daughters
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Cloris Leachman's lines are to be listened to. She is the glue of the movie. The rest is people learning how to grow up. Well well done!
Review: The best parts of this movie are the one-liners thrown out there by Cloris Leachman. "Your life is my daughter, my life is myself; neither one works very well," is one example. Another is telling Tea Leoni to just say she is so glad that her husband is ...
