Pros: Michael Tait's vocals. Most of the lyrics. Aw, it's dc Talk, what do you expect?
Cons: A few uncharacteristically dumb moments. Doesn't quite have the passion of Jesus Freak.
The Bottom Line: If you want dc Talk at their best...this isn't the album you want. But by all means, it's still excellent.
Review: Nostalgia. Everybody loves it: the longing for things to be as they were. And I experience that sometimes. At the risk of sounding like a suicidal teenager, life at my age is ridiculously complicated at times. But there is one album that sends ...

dc Talk without the "Talk" |

|
Pros: An array of catchy tunes fused together into a well-themed album.
Cons: A few songs don't fit the theme as well or stand out musically.
The Bottom Line: It's a little smoother than Jesus Freak, and there's no rap on this album. I think they've actually outdone Jesus Freak, because this album flows so amazingly well.
Review: Whether you like it or not, if you're into Christian music, you've probably heard most of this CD by now. dc Talk has been riding a wave of huge success across several genres for the past few years (most notably the pop/rock crowd, but also some...

Pros: Classic, dark rock sound of DC Talk! Dynamic and Meaningful.
Cons: A little shallow at a few places
The Bottom Line: I absolutely recommend this album. If you are a DC Talk fan or Christian Rock fan, this is a must-have for your collection.
Review: Few bands had the impact on Christian Rock that DC Talk had. Their quirky, dark rock sound resonated with its fans, and elements of this still exist today. Released in 1998 by Forefront, Supernatural features sounds that are darker than its ...

A mirror image of "Jesus Freak", but with a big twist

Pros: Some of the most beautiful stuff to come out of the 90s
Cons: Some songs that beg to be skipped over
The Bottom Line: If you don't have this album, get it! If you don't have Jesus Freak, get it! They're The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon (respectively) of Christian rock!!
Review: In Jesus Freak, dcTalk suddenly and unexpectedly departed from their original synth-heavy, predictable Christian rap to create one of the greatest Christian albums ever released (the greatest, IMHO). The soaring harmonies and guitar hooks...

Pros: Great lyrics and tunes
Cons: I've never seen them in concert (yet)
Review: I can listen to a pretty wide variety of musical genres. At my current work, we have a radio on usually to the same old top 40 songs over and over. This dc talk album is far better than most everything we hear. If you've never heard them before, I...

Pros: Strong Lyrics and Intense Music
Cons: The Truth
Review: As I first laid ears to this masterpiece I thought it was anything but. I just didn't want to deal with the new words and the new tunes. I wanted everything to be just like Jesus Freak and it was everything but.
Then, through the wonderful... |

Pros: Hard rock sound, great, soul-filling lyrics.
Cons: The sound is not for the faint of heart.
Review: Christian rock group dc Talk has changed since the beginning. From their early days of "Christian rap" to their now more rockish sound, the message has never changed: sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
Their newest album is nothing short... |

Pros: It's DC TALK!!
Cons: none
Review: What an incredible way to spread the word, than doing what you do best, sing rock songs and make great music! That is what DC Talk has done once again with their latest "Supernatural" CD! From my favorite (number 11), "Into Jesus" to...

Pros: It is DC Talk.
Cons: Toby did not get any rapping in on this album.
The Bottom Line: Wonderful cd. Definitely worth the money
Review: This cd had quite a bit of pleasant surprises that I think are very needed in modern, Christian music. An example of this was the love songs which are in no way directed to God but to another human-being. Also, the general mix of the music was...

Pros: variety of styles, intelligent & meaningful lyrics, technical excellence
Cons: none
Review: I saw dc Talk open for Michael W. Smith in 1995. I had pigeon-holed them as a "rap" group, which at the time they probably were. While most rap music is very annoying, I have always appreciated the poetry and verbal cleverness that the rap...
