A classic

by   ludzi75 ,  Jan 13, 2008
Pros: Excellent production, lyrics and collaborations
Cons: Some times his lyrics are too cocky and repetitive.
Review: I have been a fan of Lil Wayne for years and believe that he has matured lyrically as a rapper and a musician.Being able to listen to the album more than twice, its visible he had worked hard to achieve his status as a "Best rapper alive". His swagger ...

Lil Wayne -- Birdman Jr., or Jay-Z's kid brother?

by   trey_stone ,  Jun 13, 2007
Pros: Not convinced Wayne's got skills? This's probably the easiest place to start.
Cons: Weezy needs to tell his "pops" to stop rappin'.
The Bottom Line: M-Money is all I think of!!
Review: Here's the thing -- I've had DJ Drama & Lil Wayne's Dedication 2 for a while now, and I've been tryin' to review it, but I can never finish it. I almost felt like just goin' "Wayne drops some hot freestyle-ish, punchline-heavy raps over a ...

The Blueprint to the southern Carter

by   dorian9 ,  Nov 28, 2005
Pros: incredible production, great charisma, Jay Z-Like swagger, good balance of bounce and substance
Cons: a couple of weak spots....though that could be a Pro, some filler
The Bottom Line: The south has really been impressive this year. Hopefully folks elsewhere(Wayne is like God here), will actually give this album a chance before biasely not liking it.
Review: Man, what has gotten into the south lately? A region known for putting out mostly trash albums has had a very sucessful year as have most of the mainstream in general. After hearing Chamillionaires debut album i felt the year was his for southern ...

Tha Carter II: Chapter 2 Of "Lil Wayne The Late Bloomer"

by   yinyang205 ,  Jun 3, 2007
Pros: Very good production, Lil Wayne's improved lyrics, some deep tracks
Cons: Not much diversity of concepts, too long at 77 minutes, some bad production
The Bottom Line: Lil Wayne opens the door and gives us another entertaining ride through Tha Carter II. Don't sleep on this guy any more.
Review: I've always had a soft spot for Lil Wayne. From his sophomore album, Lights Out, to the mixtape albums he did with Sqad Up, to his solo mixtape career, I've been a pretty avid follower of his music. In terms of mainstream albums, though, he's been ...

4 stars

by   flash-black ,  Aug 22, 2006
Pros: amazing lyrics, good beats
Cons: Producer Yonny, some chorus sucks badly, No Mannie Fresh
The Bottom Line: A very good album. Worth your time and your money, go get if you dont have it.
Review: Lil Wayne is an interesting artist. Some people love him for his swagger and his "Best Rapper Alive" attitude, and some people just can't stand him. I don't mind this as long as the artist can make music I enjoy. I have all of his albums except 500 ...

Weezy F-in' Bay-Beh

by   xicripz ,  Jul 28, 2008
Pros: Consistant quality
Cons: A few unnecessary track
The Bottom Line: Lil' Wayne's fifth album
Review: "Tha Carter II", from 2005 was the fifth abum from Lil' Wayne. I chose to go back with the artist as he came with one of the most anticipated albums this year with "Tha Carter II", and this obviously acted as the led-up tune to it. It was the second in ...

Tha Carter II

by   jss113 ,  Jul 28, 2008
Pros: A Few Outstanding Tracks
Cons: Some Less Than Stellar Tracks
The Bottom Line: Listen to it. If you like Lil Wayne you will Like Tha Carter II.
Review: Tha Carter II was when Lil Wayne was in the process of transitioning from stereotypical rapper, to lyricist extraordinaire. It is also probably most famous for being the time Lil Wayne first claimed he was the "Best Rapper Alive." The best tracks are ...

by   crackbabies ,  May 20, 2006
Pros: Wayne's Lyrics are top-notch as always,
Cons: mo fire, no mannie fresh
The Bottom Line: Great Album. Buy it if u dont have it already
Review: Lets talk about lil wayne. As for his albums, tha block is hot and lights out were both great albums imo, Ive listened to them many times and Ive still yet to get bored of it. 500 degreez was wayne's worst album, the songs, production everything was ...

"Tha Carter II": I guess I don't get the basics...

by   mcheadcase ,  Jun 22, 2008
Pros: Wayne shows more potential than before; production is greatly improved.
Cons: Subject matter is still redundant, and Wayne's lyricism is still less-than-stellar overall.
The Bottom Line: 3 Stars: Under all the "Best Rapper Alive" hype, redundant subject matter, and less-than-stellar lyricism is an emcee with potential.
Review: As it's been seen throughout history, emcees like to give themselves titles or nicknames to boast how they are above everybody else. Slick Rick always referred to himself as The Ruler; KRS-One was known as The Blastmaster (for his battle ...

by   danzoolo ,  Apr 9, 2007
Pros: good beats & nice flow
Cons: i'm not feeling him, i respect the hustle though
Review: a lot of hype is on lil' wayne right now. he is a very popular hook artist. on hooks he sounds alright but on his own do i feel him? NO!!! double no. lil' wayne has a nice flow but the problem is that he isn't really spitting anything i'd call quality ...
