Pros: Infectious music of the first 4 albums of the Beatles
Cons: what took so long to get it right?
The Bottom Line: A fantastic collection of the Beatles of their first year's music in America. A wonderful gift for yourself or someone you care for!
Review: Having grown up on the Beatles, this is finally one set of CDs that I broke down and purchased. I have a couple of odd CDs that I got on sale of their unplugged or unreleased music that was rather interesting. However, this is a collection of ...

Pros: Seeing those old covers again, mono/stereo mixes, all the early songs in one collection.
Cons: Those covers are now tiny and tougher to read, cardboard cases may wear easily.
The Bottom Line: Capitol Records has released the first four US-based Beatles albums 40 years later. Some purists will freak while others will wax nostalgic. Either way, it's fun listening.
Review: My father's career has been an interesting one. In college he was a disc jockey for a local radio station and soon he was deep "in the industry", eventually moving out to Los Angeles to work for Capitol Records for several years. It was during this time ...

Pros: Only way to get stereo mixes of early Beatles albums and singles
Cons: American tracklists jumbled up original albums and singles. Duophonic mixes allowed to stand.
The Bottom Line: The American permutations are second best and some of the sixties mastering questionable, but the vitality and power of the stereo mixes blows away any misgivings
Review: At first glance it would seem strange that there would be a British market for these American permutations, in whose compilation the Beatles had no hand, and which stretched the original British albums into far greater number by mixing up the tracks with ...

Pros: Musical History, legendary albums. Solid songs, clear foundation of "modern" rock.
Cons: Sounds dated, basic pop format.
The Bottom Line: Good for the Beatles fan or rock historian. Less than enjoyable for those who don't appreciate good old "rock 'n' roll"
Review: I received this set for Christmas in 04. I have been a Beatles fan since i was about seven or eight. What was so phenomenal about these four albums in particular, is that they revolutionized the music industry. I enjoy the difference in the sound ...
