by   JediKermit , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 21, 2003
Pros: Impressive additions that make this a better movie; wonderful version of a good film.
Cons: My wife didn't realize this was LONGER than the theatrical cut! No real cons.
The Bottom Line: Tolkien finally hits the big screen (or your smaller screen) in style...and the extended version really IS better.
Review: This is going to be a long one. It’s been a long time coming. This movie came out over a year ago, and although I’ve been compelled to write something about it, I haven’t ever been entirely satisfied with what I’ve written. I’m...

by   minorthreat78 , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  May 29, 2003
Pros: Incredible movie with even more incredible extras
Cons: The movie is long and has no real ending, and the set is kinda pricey
The Bottom Line: A spectacular film with an awe-inspiring presentation on DVD.
Review: I have to admit, when I first heard tale of Peter Jackson being green-lighted for the Lord of the Rings (LOTR) project, I was quite shocked. How often do you hear of a director with little to prove himself but a few modestly successful...
