The Bible of Current Cat Care

by   wordwalker , top reviewer in Books at Epinions.com ,  Dec 16, 1999
Pros: Clear, comprehensive guide to cat care
Cons: Holistic viewpoint may irk some. Quibbles!
Review: My first roommate had two beautiful cats and a copy of THE NATURAL CAT. I have had seven cats since -- currently my SO and I are maxed out at three -- and every time I've had to do something really tricky for any of them this is where I have...

a must for every cat owner!

by   2willow ,  Dec 3, 2000
Pros: covers a lot of information, easy to follow, very eye opening info on cat foods on the market.
Cons: none
Review: I have relied on this book for many years, though it never has a chance to get worn; any time someone I know gets a cat I give them my copy as I feel it is so important to really know about the proper diet, nutrition, care, and first aid techniques...

Cons: No

Cons: for the cat owner with loads of time and money
Review: This is an interesting book, because on the one hand, I loved it, and on the other, I just couldn't buy into it entirely.

Let me explain:
Reading this book certainly made me a more finicky cat owner. Once you read about the ingredients...

Cat Lovers Must Own This Book! Meow!

by   infogal ,  Oct 11, 2000
Pros: homeopathic, easy read, great reference
Cons: assume you already have some knowledge of cats
Review: If you own a cat, you should own this book. It gives concise, practical advice of behavioral problems, nutrition, grooming, and cat health. What makes it great is that the remedies prescribed are homeopathic (hence the title) Many of them you can do...

good but weird

by   agathafroo ,  Jun 4, 2001
Pros: One of the best resources for cats with behavior problems, and chronically ill cats.
Cons: some degree of quackery/new age hippy-ness
The Bottom Line: Good to read for a deeper understanding of your cat--will be too "new age" for some. Check with your vet before trying to use this book to cure diseases.
Review: This book is especially great if you have a cat with behavior problems, or a chronic illness for which your vet says there is little hope, or an aging kitty for which you would like to improve the quality of life.
