Pros: Welty wrote some of the finest literature, Southern or otherwise, ever to grace a page
Cons: Miss Welty has gone to that great Library in the Sky
The Bottom Line: If you've let those Eudora Welty books sit unread on your shelves, then there's no better time than now to take one down and discover what made her so great.

Pulitzer Worthy Prose

Pros: Welty, as usual, delivers quality Americana in a captivating if somewhat dark story.
Cons: Short story but requires patience and time to fully grasp and appreciate while you read.
The Bottom Line: High quality writing is rare in our modern age of blogging and online publishing. Revisit a classic from before the age of home computers.
