Pros: a fun fantasy story overall with a great ending

Cons: some lags in the plot, occasionally whiny protagonist

The Bottom Line: This quick-read story turned out to be surprisingly fun and smart, and kicks off a fantastic series. Recommended for teens and patient adults.
