Pros: action packed
Cons: caused insomnia, suspense drags too long
Review: I could not put It down. Seriously I stayed up until 12:30 at night to finish the book because I couldn't wait until the next day to read it. A little gore and sexuality here and there so I personally wouldn't put in the children's fiction category....

Pros: A unique and powerful story
Cons: May not be enjoyable if you are looking for the traditional telling of the Arthurian legend.
Review: The Winter King is the first of three books in Cornwell's "Warlord" trilogy, the re-telling of the Arthurian legend. As such, it offers a unique perspective of the legend, with very well researched historical information on life and times of...

Pros: Sheds a new light on an old tale
Cons: The battle scenes run on too long...
Review: For some reason, in order to find this book, I had to go through children's literature. I'm not sure why because this is not a children's book at all. But anyways, on to the review...

Pros: Good escapist read
Cons: Characters and places can be confusing
Review: This is a surprisingly good read. I say surprisingly because Bernard Cornwell is not a household name, like Grisham,King,Turow, and the likes. I did not know what to expect and was frankly a bit skeptical that a book centering in the Dark Ages could...

Pros: Cornwell is throwing some interesting twists into the traditional Arthurian legend.
Cons: As an independent novel it's not terribly enjoyable.
The Bottom Line: Huh? Sorry, The Bottom Line was taking a nap.
Review: One of the reasons that I love the Arthurian legend so much is that it's been told and retold in so many different ways. From the classic Ma
lory
and T. H. White tellings to the less standardized versions such as ...

Pros: some good characters and twists
Cons: soooooooooooo boring
Review: Quite possibly the most boring book I have ever read I couldn't read it for more than half an hour at a time. On a rainy day when you go to bed early with the flu and cant get to sleep, then and only then should you pick this book up.
