Pros: reliable, comfortable, quick, smooth engine and 5spd gearbox
Cons: darty and tire limited in high speed handling, can't get auto climate on 5spd SE
The Bottom Line: Definately a yes recommendation, hard to beat in this category and price range.
Review: I have a 2001 SE V6, 5spd with the leather, sunroof, alloy wheels, CD/Cass JBL stereo. I was actually looking at a 2002 SLE V6 too. Here's why I went with the SE. ONLY REASON --> you can't get the SLE in a 5spd!!! It comes only in the automatic. ...

Pros: Quiet ride, fun to drive, few or no repairs.
Cons: CD player issues.
The Bottom Line: A great buy, as good as a Lexus.
Review: After owning Camry's for many years, I happened upon the Solara in the Toyota show room. The dealership talked me into one with leather seats (which I have never regretted). I am still driving this car, its running smoothly after putting MANY miles on ...

Pros: Quiet, Luxurious, Powerful ride. Great sound system.
Cons: Soft steering. Leans a little in corners.
The Bottom Line: Want luxury, power, and reliability? Buy this car!
Review: Just picked up a 2001 Toyota Camry Solara SLE V6. I got the hardtop, not the convertible. What a wonderful car. I love driving in it. If you're looking for more of a sports car you might be a bit disappointed. But, if you're looking for a nice mix...

Pros: powerful V6, silky smooth transmission, quiet, quality, refined
Cons: understeers, leans too much when driven hard, not a sports car
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend. Excellent value for money, comparable to cars that cost $10 k more.
Review: I'm approaching my second year of owning a 2001 Solara SLE. Overall I have been happy with the vehicle. The quality of build has been excellent without any major problems. It doesn't handle as well as an Audi A4, BMW 330 i or Lexus IS 300 but the engine...

Pros: Comfortable, Smooth, Quiet, Good Looking
Cons: None yet one years later
The Bottom Line: Very well made, zero factory defects, excellent ride, I would highly recommend this car to anyone in the market for a new car.
Review: We bought the 2001 Solara as a replacement for a stolen truck, so didn't have too much time to shop around for the features we wanted, and still take advantage of end of the year clearance sales. We are still extremely happy with the car we bought. It is...

Pros: Nice lines, smooth and powerful acceleration, good air conditioning.
Cons: Doors do not automatically lock when car is started, steering column is a bit large.
The Bottom Line: No car is for everyone, but if you are in the market for a sporty luxury car, the Toyota Solara is the one to aim for.
Review: Introduction
I found myself in the market for a car earlier this year. I had been driving a 1992 Toyota Corolla since my senior year in high school, and had been looking to "upgrade," not because the car was dying... it wasn't. It was... |

Pros: Great looking, good luxury, Great looking, quiet ride, great looking...
Cons: Okay handling
The Bottom Line: You have to like how this car looks in the first place. Test drive one if you also want a car with luxury feel and smooth ride.
Review: I have had a 2001 SLE for about 2 weeks. Unfortunately I haven't been able to put too many miles on it because of school and work. However, I thought I'd write some preliminary thoughts on this car because it looks like the other love of my life is...

Pros: V6 power, luxury, quality build.
Cons: None really. Well, the dealer Service Dept. is not that great.
The Bottom Line: Buy one if you want a lot of luxury, a quality car with some good pop under the hood, reasonable handling, and at least a decent bit of style.
Review: I was very pleasantly surprised when I test drove a v6 SLE -- it had plenty of power, handled pretty well for a front-driver, was pretty cushy with stuff like leather, in dash 6 player CD, great AC, power everything. The get up and go was what really...

Pros: Good price. Decent sporty looks. Very comfortable. Mechanically reliable.
Cons: Go for the SLE --better resale value, more power, and luxury.
Review: I bought my 2001 Camry Solara used with 48,000 miles. It is the SE model. It drives smoothly and is comfortable, however, I would suggest to those who like a little power to move up to the SLE model which is a V6. I havent had any mechanical troubles ...

Pros: Roomy, comfy, soundy (jbl sound), ice cold a/c freezes the kids out, has get-up-and-go power.
Cons: Haven't noticed any, nothing consistent with toyota.
Review: Bought the SE version v6. I bought this used for 7,000 bucks at 7 years old. It has 110,000 miles on it, but runs beautifully. I am not disappointed in the purchase and would buy this car again. I have 2 children, so putting them in the back seat is ...
