"Excellent."

by   Dunkjam ,  Jun 9, 2000
Pros: Good Sports Card Guide
Cons: many, many advertisements
Review: I've been using the Tuff Stuff guide to Sports Cards for about 10 years now. The price that you pay for a yearly subscription is about $25.00. The reason why I like this sports guide so much is because it has the four main sports in it. Beyond baseball,...

Tuff Stuff Magazine: A Great Resource for Card Collectors

by   beckish ,  Jun 17, 2007
Pros: Helpful information for sports collectible fans.
Cons: Way too tiny of print in some sections of the magazine.
The Bottom Line: Tuff Stuff gives good information as a great start before doing more extensive research.
Review: A couple months ago I was cleaning my home office and came across my boxes of baseball cards. I started collecting years ago when I was still with my ex-husband, who was a baseball fanatic. Over the years I got busy with other hobbies and forgot about ...

Tuff Stuff is a good addition to Becket

by   lcoffiejr ,  Feb 23, 2003
Pros: prices for starting line-ups, bobbleheads, autographs
Cons: prices don't always reflect market values
The Bottom Line: If you like cards, Autographs, bobbles, starting line-ups, etc. Tuff Stuff is the magazine for you, but not every month.
Review: I have bought and sold cards, autographs, bobbleheads, starting line-ups for about ten years. I use Tuff Stuff as a good additive to Becket price guide. I deal with one card shop exclusively, so I don't pay for Tuff Suff. The $5.95 an issue cost...

Tuff (but not all) Stuff Magazine

by   michiman1 ,  Sep 21, 2000
Pros: Multiple sports included
Cons: Lacking pricing of older cards
Review: Tuff Stuff bills itself as "The #1 guide to sports cards and collectibles". The magazine has several features which I should probably describe, at least, in some detail.

The front of the magazine is filled with ads which would be...

I gots yer stuff right here!

by   Pumpy_Tudors ,  May 20, 2000
Pros: Extensive all-purpose price guide, articles are good for introducing someone to card collection
Cons: $4.99 cover price seems a little high for so few articles
Review: A couple of months ago, my father gave me his small collection of sports cards. It was just about 200 or 300 basketball cards that he bought ten years ago. I figured that adding to the collection would be a fun thing to do. Within a few weeks, my...

great collector resource

by   btmbill ,  Dec 21, 1999
Pros: New release review/SLU price guide
Cons: not sport specific limited sport card prices
Review: This is a great magazine for the multi sports collector. I enjoy this magazine because I have cut back on card collecting and have started to focus more on memerabilia, diecast, and Starting Line Ups. My favorite section of this magazine is the all...

Tuff Stuff – A Jack of All Trades in the Collectible Price Guide Market

by   OpalMan ,  Jan 2, 2002
Pros: Has a Little bit of everything
Cons: It is just a little bit
The Bottom Line: Too Little of too Much
Review: Tuff Stuff is the generalist in the sports collectible genre. Like most generalists, they are a master of nothing. They do provide a good platform for those looking for an approximate value on a variety of cards.

The Price Guide...

Why Going Cheap Doesn't Cut It.

by   will_loyd ,  Feb 6, 2000
Pros: All Sports in One Magazine
Cons: Prices aren't as reliable as Beckett
Review: Tuff Stuff Magazine is in essence a way for multiple sport collectors (such as myself) to get all their monthly pricings cheaper. I'm not saying it's not for anyone, but if you DO have the money to shell out on the individual Becketts ($12 for...
