The Bottom Line: Bottom line is you get a phone(s) that gives you the best of both worlds. Convenience and freedom with cordless, and clarity of corded unit that works during blackouts.

Pros: Affordability. Dependability. Backlit LCD. Clear-sounding digital answerer. Can record brief conversations (albeit with intermittent beeping).

Cons: Only 10 speed-dial numbers (unless_you_have "caller-ID"). No speakerphone in cordless handset (unlike the corded base).

The Bottom Line: "Like New"/"refurbished" specimens of this not-so-recent model remain available from online vendors. It's a satisfactory corded phone with a likable answerer and LCD; however, its standard speed-dial-number directory's disappointingly dinky.
