Vizio GV47LF LCD Television

by   davehertle ,  May 25, 2007
Pros: Looks great without be overwhelming. Tremendous Value. Online for $1200 (refurbished)
Cons: Might be too small for a large viewing area. Sweet spot is within 10 feet.
The Bottom Line: A lot for your money
Review: After a lot of shopping, it came down to value, quality vs. price. My final two selections were both Vizio models at CostCo; a 50" plasma at about $1400 and the GV47LF at $1700. I found internet user-group sites for these models. Previous buyers ...

Best 47" HD LCD Value

by   glenn_welt ,  Sep 18, 2007
Pros: Excellent 1080p HD 47" picture for $1500
Cons: Audio delay does not match other Vizio LCD models
The Bottom Line: Best value today for a 47" HD 1080p LCD TV, but I still prefer picture on my Samsung DLP (no dots).
Review: This review will cover ONLY facts not included by other reviewers of this TV. Living in Vegas and attending the CES shows every January allows me to see ALL the new offerings. Until 2 months ago, I swore by Samsungs latest DLP as offering the sharpest ...

Excellent Quality, Outstanding Value

by   gator9266 ,  Feb 28, 2008
Pros: 1080p, Excellent color and image, PIP, multiple format connections
Cons: If installing over a mantle-- connect the video cables prior to hanging unit.
The Bottom Line: For the money and quality delivered, it is the best choice on the market. PIP is an added feature that most sets do not offer any more.
Review: As a graphics industry professional, to say that I am a discerning judge of image and color quality would be an understatement. 2007 I presented myself with a challenge-- by football season, purchase a wide screen hdtv. A few of my neighbors had ...

If you're looking for a good value with a budget in mind

by   euchreprincess ,  Nov 26, 2007
Pros: Price, value, stability, newest version ATSC tuner.
Cons: Has a lower contrast ratio than more expensive models.
The Bottom Line: Best value for your money, easy to use. Seniors avoid new technology because it's too technical. Not to worry here. You'll love it!
Review: We are snowbirds, and we wanted a widescreen LCD to replace our aging TVs at both houses. Space is a consideration, so we only looked at LCDs. We also only considered 1080p because as fast as things change, why buy old technology? We settled on the ...

Amazing Bargain on a 1080P LCD TV

by   pvreditor ,  May 23, 2007
Pros: Beautiful image, 1080P capable; good ATSC tuner
Cons: Low-level audio buzz; some remote control issues
The Bottom Line: For the money, you can't beat the value this LCD HDTV offers.
Review: I've had HDTV in my home off and on since 2000. In 2002, I got a 27-inch LCD flatscreen TV that I used with a set-top tuner to receive off-the-air HDTV broadcasts. It worked pretty well and I still use this setup in my bedroom. However, a 27-inch TV is a ...

by   lilgopeder ,  Dec 12, 2007
Pros: excellent picture, 1080P, HDMI, PRICE!!!
Cons: Speakers are too loud when on the low volume setting
The Bottom Line: Great tv. Would recomend to anyone that can afford about $1,500
Review: For what you get this is the best hd lcd tv. This 47" vizio has everything the average consumer and some professionals would want. I have this television set up to my xbox 360, wii, and ps2... it looks amazing on the 360 with hd games and hd dvds (so ...

Great value and very nice picture.

by   skyhilljim ,  Feb 28, 2008
Pros: Picture quality, pic-in-pic, appearance, sound and value.
Cons: There is no way to change the speaker setting from internal to external.
Review: If you shop at Costco like I do... doing a side-by-side compariosn is very easy. This model has a very nice picture and the black levels are very good (not Sony Bravia good)but nonetheless very good. I tried the Sceptre 46" and it had nothing on the ...

Vizio T.V.

by   tealiedc413 ,  Apr 23, 2008
Pros: great size wonderful price
Cons: picture isn't the best
Review: We have had the Vizio forty-seven inch television for about one month now. It has worked pretty well for our family so far. It is big upgrade seeing as we had a little twenty-seven inch television for the past ten years. We love the look of it because ...

Great Value 1080p LCD

by   jswinks ,  May 5, 2007
Pros: Large Size, Great Value, Remote Design and Functional Use, Sleek touch sensitive buttons set
Cons: Black scaling, Significant pixelation on HD input, Limited range of volume control
The Bottom Line: Great set for the value and if you are looking for an initial entry to HDTV. Its worth investing more if you expecting the next level experience.
Review: We owned this TV for about 2 weeks before returning it for the Sharp Aquous 46 inch (LC-46D62U) and have been very pleased with the "upgrade". Of course, we did have to spend about another $300 to do so. We were impressed with the clarity of picture ...

Poor Customer Service

by   hdhg1 ,  Dec 20, 2008
Pros: O.K. while it lasted.
Cons: Customer service likes to drag their feet.
The Bottom Line: I won't be buying this brand again.
Review:  For those of you that like dealing with a company that is more concerned with their own procedures and policies than with customer satisfaction then Vizio is the company for you. I purchased a 47” Vizio LCD flat screen from Costco about a ...
