Alan Arkin Terrorizes Audrey Hepburn in Wait Until Dark

by   dragonfire88 , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  May 6, 2009
Pros: Entertaining thriller with good cast.
Cons: Nothing really.
The Bottom Line: Wait Until Dark is a well done, entertaining thriller that has held up well and deserves to be seen.
Review: I like many different movies, including several older ones.  I have added some of those older movies to my ever growing DVD collection.  I first saw Wait Until Dark several years ago on television and really enjoyed it.  I ...

Wait Until Dark (1967): You Say You Want A Scary Movie?

by   Ed.Williamson , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Aug 2, 2007
Pros: Hepburn and Arkin scare the daylights out of you.
Cons: A bit cheesy in the story but the actors make up for that.
The Bottom Line: This is a film that is scary fun without all the gore and skin of contemporary horror movies.
Review: Wait Until Dark is an Audrey Hepburn film that you will probably never forget, because of a famous scene near the end. I can still hear the audience scream. Horror fans of today may be disappointed- no blood, no skin and all that, but the ...

A Truly Suspenseful Classic!

by   elzora ,  Jan 2, 2002
Pros: Suspenseful, with needed twists to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: A classic suspense thriller in the style of Alfred Hitchcock! If you like suspense, see this film!
Review: (Due to Epinions recent decisions, I am no longer going to be spending an hour or two writing each of my reviews! My work will be much more concise from now on!) And now on to the review!

Wait Until Dark is one of my all time favorite...

Get This Movie for Your Teenagers!

by   kwoodcox ,  Feb 15, 2005
Pros: Very suspenseful! Great acting. No gore, sex, or nudity. Great for teenagers.
Cons: A little too scary for some kids (under 10).
The Bottom Line: I recommend "Wait Until Dark" for teen and adult groups. It contains great performances, clean suspense, along with a chilling soundtrack.
Review: I had never seen "Wait Until Dark" until 1995, when I saw it on AMC. I was blown away! This movie manages to get you on the edge of your seat and keep you there without blood and gore. It also has a certain amount of sex appeal without being trashy. ...

Pros: None.
Cons: Buy this movie, it will be an enjoyable addition to your movie classic library.

Don't wait to see "Wait Until Dark"

by   aceofhart81 ,  May 10, 2003
Pros: Gripping story line with great acting and a lot of suspense
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: If you are both a Hepburn fan, and a sucker for suspense and plot twists, this is the movie for you.
Review: This movie is fantastic. It doesn't rely on tired and out-done effects, or blood and gore to be scary. Instead, it captures the viewer with its brilliant story line and script superbly acted by the cast. Hepburn is at her best in this movie and once...

Blind Alley

by   spelvini ,  Apr 23, 2008
Pros: nice little thriller
Cons: wish they had made a film not just a photographed play
The Bottom Line: well-filmed stage play that almost works
Review: Wait Until Dark opened at the Barrymore Theatre in 1966 and was immediately developed into a film project to garner revenue from the popularity that had built up from the stage play. Susy Hendrix (Audrey Hepburn) is a pretty woman blinded recently in ...

Cheesy but Engrossing '60s Suspense

by   bethy ,  Aug 8, 2000
Pros: genuinely suspenseful and engaging
Cons: some cheesy '60s elements
Review: One of my goals in life, at least at present, is to make my boyfriend watch all the movies I think he should have seen by now. Because he seems to have a similar goal, I sometimes get to see movies like the early '80s car race flick Cannonball...
