Pros: No advertising. Combines stress and relaxation in an entertaining way.
Cons: Some of the puzzles may be too difficult for some.
The Bottom Line: Challenging, but enough variety to keep you going until the next issue arrives. Entertaining nevertheless.
Review: I've recently become a subscriber to World of Puzzles magazine, the companion magazine to Games. I ...

Give Your Brain A Workout!

by   joecav ,  Jan 20, 2004
Pros: Huge variety in the puzzles, tons of puzzles in each issue, superb puzzle creators.
Cons: Too many paint by numbers. Need more Rummy 500, that's the best there is!!!

Better than Games for puzzle addicts

by   antimonysarah ,  Oct 30, 2002
Pros: All puzzles.
Cons: Eats your free time, expensive
The Bottom Line: Not cheap, but a lot of fun.
Review: I used to get "Games" magazine, and would turn straight to the Pencilwise section and only read the rest if I ran out of puzzles. Then "World of Puzzles" came out, from the same publishers, and I switched to it. It has more of the same crosswords,...

by   quasar , top reviewer in Magazines & Newspapers at Epinions.com ,  Sep 7, 2005
Pros: some interesting variations, some word play and visual puzzles without overwhelming everything else
Cons: many ridiculously easy puzzles, not grouped by difficulty, odd unannounced variants, badly presented (physically)
The Bottom Line: While I like World of Puzzles a lot more than I like its sister publication Games Magazine, it's vastly inferior to most Dell or Penny Press titles.
Review: I've never been very fond of Games Magazine - it's too reliant on rebuses, puns, and other gimmicky stuff plus it tends to have many fewer puzzles than a comparably sized Dell or Penny Press magazine. When Games started publishing World of Puzzles ...
