Re-Awakening My Righteous (If Misplaced) Indignation |
|||
|
Pros: Moore moves from Big Business to Politics...and it gets MESSY
Cons: Seems to be telling one side of the story
The Bottom Line: Kermit's not the only one who's a bit GREEN...
Review: As prologue to my first review in SIX weeks, let me just say that living with a ten-week old baby is the best, most wonderful, most rewarding experience I've ever had. We love Miles so much, and he's healthy, happy, and perfect. But he sucks up the...

Pros: Scathing Wit, Biting Satire, Amazing breadth of facts, and a chewy caramel center!
Cons: Those on the Right afraid of confrontational criticism and brutal dissent, beware!
The Bottom Line: It'll enrage, enthrall, and make you bust a gut simultaneously. Some Die-Hard Conservatives and Wimpy Democrats will hate it- It's for open minded citizens dedicated to true change
Review: This amazing book is a satire about life, politics, and race in America, plain and simple. If you enjoy skewering sacred cows and controversial topics, especially if the subjects are supposed to be taboo because we in America are supposed to be...

Rush for Liberals

Pros: Easy read. Laugh out-loud funny at some points.
Cons: Moore occasionally goes a bit too far and you can buy the book at Walmart.
The Bottom Line: Great book to get the left riled up and excited. Fun to read, more fun to talk about with others who read it. Michael Moore doing what he does best.
Review: You may have heard the comparison before, but this book made me finally realize it: Michael Moore is the liberal equivalent of Rush Limbaugh. Sure Michael doesn't have a talk show and he is willing to talk to and debate those opposed to his political...

Pros: Funny, makes you think, and logical.
Cons: A little extreme at some times.
The Bottom Line: A funny way to put the state of the nation....after all, what Bush and the others do is quite humorous.
Review: This is a fun book to read. It makes you wonder about what our government is all about and what the true objectives are. If you are a hard headed Republican or even a Democrat, you probably won't like this book for obvious reasons. But I suggest that...

Pros: Forthright and funny, Moore tackles the nation with style as well as substance.
Cons: Silly and sarcastic writing style, but without it the facts alone would make you cry.
The Bottom Line: You have to read this. Silliness aside, Michael Moore knows a lot more than most of us and he's willing to share. Take advantage of that.
Review: This is a book that is right on the money. From the hijacked election to the nepotism that runs rampant in our governing body, Michael Moore attacks the problems with the state of the nation with humor and a healthy dose of skepticism that is lacking in...

Pros: Commentary that you won't hear on the news!
Cons: None if you don't like conciousness raising.
The Bottom Line: This book will uncover certain truths you did not know.
Review: Thank you Michael Moore! It is reassuring that someone still seems to have both a memory and a conscience. Moore assures us that, yes indeed, people still are seething about the usurpation of justice that the last Presidential election represented and...

Pros: Great writing style, well-researched including footnotes. Very funny
Cons: Moore does not present both sides, but does not claim to (it's his book afterall)!
The Bottom Line: Read this book! It is filled with facts, opinion and humor and you will have a hard time putting it down!
Review: I will start by saying that I love Michael Moore. I find his style and his wit to be compelling and hilarious at times. He is also very thought-provoking and will raise issues not being raised by the Fox News culture of today. Stupid White Men fits...

Pros: Very informative and funny.
Cons: There are no cons.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this book to everybody.
Review: With everything going on in the world and all the information being thrown at us every day, I wanted to read something that would shine some light on everything.
I had seen Micheal Moore's documentary "Bowling for Columbine". Since then, I... |

Pros: Funny, entertaining, chock full of info
Cons: Moore gets pretty mean spirited at times...
The Bottom Line: There's most certainly something in here to anger almost everyone, but it makes a lot of extremely good points. And it's really funny, as well.
Review: Reading this book took me back to a time where our country was filled wih discontent, anger and confusion. Yes, the infamous 2000 election and probably the most pathetic ways to start out the new millenium. The airways were ripe with controversy and...

Pros: A view like no one else's
Cons: Some might dismiss Moore right off the bat
The Bottom Line: The book makes a perfect read while at the beach or for a rainy weekend
Review: "Stupid White Men" was written by none other than one of America's most hated liberals Michael Moore. Moore has made a life out of criticizing most people associated with the establishment and waves his brush of criticism just about as widely as ...
