MTV Good Idea = Collision Course

by   voraciousls ,  Jan 23, 2005
Pros: Very well done songs, interesting portions, longer than a typical 6 song album. Excellent extras.
Cons: Only 6 songs, very minor flaws.
The Bottom Line: Get this album if you are a rap listener or a rock listener, or if you're a fan. The songs will always be stuck in your head.
Review: We can love MTV for this one. MTV (Music Television) is known for many of the shows teenagers talk about everyday. The Real World, Boiling Points, Viva La Bam, Jackass, and yes, even Punk'd. These shows are smart, stupid, and cool in their very own ...

Great CD

by   wiliampum98 ,  Feb 23, 2006
Pros: Nice mix, good songs
Cons: Only 6 songs, hefty price
Review: I got this CD from my brother and I listen to the songs just about everyday. The songs are great, mixing rap and some metal for a perfect CD. I will listen to some rap, but I have not heard any of Jay-z's songs. I'm impressed with the mixes and beats ...

Linkin Park / JZ Collision Course is AWESOME

by   heatmoney ,  Dec 6, 2004
Pros: Great songs, the DVD, the multimedia features included on the CD.
Cons: Only 6 songs on the CD.
Review: You'd never think mixing the music of LP and JZ would sound very good but it turned out really well. Numb/Encore works the best because they both have a similar tone and style to them. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You also work really well. It ...

Now This Is The Real Best of Both Worlds

by   nikefreak ,  Nov 30, 2004
Pros: Tight mixing of beats/lyrics, two great bands/artists, unique idea
Cons: A bit short at only 21 minutes long
The Bottom Line: Get this if you a Jay-Z and Linkin Park fan 'cause you will be blessed with sweet beats interlaced with the tight lyrics.
Review: Well, imagine my delight when my boy Hova got together with one of my favorite bands, Linkin Park. Jigga and R. Kelly put out a CD named the Best of Both Worlds, but this one is way better, since it seemed as Mr. S. Carter's heart didn't really ...

Do you want an encore?

by   Bounty628 ,  Jan 19, 2005
Pros: A different sound, that's for sure.
Cons: Highly explicit lyrics.
The Bottom Line: Collision Course is a fine sounding collision.
Review: Might be a quarter life crisis, or perhaps it is something else. Usually not a huge fan of either rap or heavy metal music, for some reason this CD caught my eye. Perhaps it was the music videos pulled from this CD that are continually played on MTV, but ...

Two Music Genres Collide To Make A Pretty Good Album

by   da_hustla ,  Nov 24, 2004
Pros: great remixes, the flow of the album
Cons: track #6, the album is way to short
The Bottom Line: If you like Jay-Z & Linkin Park, this album will interest you.
Review: Linkin Park & Jay-Z - Collision Course (CD & DVD) Warner/Roc-A-Fella In Stores November 30 2004 TRACKLIST: CD- 01. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You {3.5 Stars} 02. Big Pimpin/Papercut {4 Stars} 03. Jigga What/Faint ...

Jay-Z Linkin Park - Music to my ears!

by   success4life ,  Dec 17, 2004
Pros: Collector's item for hip-hop and alternative music lovers.
Cons: Only 6 songs!
The Bottom Line: Buy it, collect it, and embrace it. Its the next thing in music by 2 of the biggest names.
Review: Opening After hearing this album there was one question that came to mind. Was this morally right? Right off the heels of Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s second album release of where hip-hop marries R&B (I guess since it’s the second album they ...

When Rhythm and Rhyme Collide

by   superxeroesaul ,  Dec 4, 2004
Pros: Some good songs. Very interesting. Fascinating sound effects and parts given from both artists.
Cons: Too short. Some bad songs.
The Bottom Line: Listen to a couple of songs before you buy it. Don't just go out and then end up kicking yourself for spending bad money.
Review: Everyone loves collaborations! It's just the greatest thing to see when two or more different-world artists join up and make music together. It's fun how to see how they do that stuff. Then again, usually they make one song together. This is different. ...

Rap and metal on a Collision Course -- will the listeners survive?

by   punkrawka , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Nov 30, 2004
Pros: "Points of Authority/99 Problems/One Step Closer" is incredible; the whole production is cleanly executed
Cons: A few lame back-and-forth tracks; full price for only six songs
The Bottom Line: A worthwhile collaboration for fans of either artist, but don't expect to find anything totally revolutionary
Review: Riding on the massive success of a mere two original studio recordings, Linkin Park have mastered the art of selling a bunch of extra material to their jaded suburban audience -- a remix album, a two-disc live set, DVD singles -- you name it, they'll ...

Could be much better

by   alexis507 ,  Feb 7, 2005
Pros: mix of artist styles?
Cons: Poor mix, short
Review: This CD came about after Jay-Z and Linkin Park performed for an MTV mash up. They later decided to go to the studio and mix up some of their songs and add a few new vocals. Personally i think this CD is not worth buying. Most of the songs do not go well ...
