If I'm not dreaming, this is Johnson's best work yet!

by   openroad ,  Mar 1, 2005
Pros: Great harmony, Jack stretches his style and instrument selection for a few new sounds.
Cons: None at all, nearly perfect... except for track 7. :)
The Bottom Line: A nearly perfect collection of introspective and relaxing tunes, clearly Jack's best album to date. Summer's always outside when In Your Dreams is playing.
Review: In Between Dreams Released: March 1st, 2005 Label: Universal Tracks: 14 http://www.jackjohnsonmusic.co m/ All songs recorded at The Mango Tree, Hawaii, October 2004 ----- Jack Johnson, himself ----- I'd ...

The Gen X answer to Jimmy Buffett

by   MattBjorke , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Mar 1, 2005
Pros: Sunny Sweet Melodies
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Jack Johnson is consistently entertaining and his personality (laid back) shines through on every track.
Review: The year was 2001 and coming across the alternative and Triple A radio airwaves was an acoustic track with heavy bass and a melody that pervaded the listener's mind so much that you couldn't get the song out of your head. Jack Johnson was the ...

3-minute Summer breeze

by   silktempest ,  Aug 13, 2006
Pros: Solid to boot, many highs
Cons: You can still want someone less repetitive and tamed...
The Bottom Line: JACK JOHNSON is the golden boy of the 2000s and probably will remain so
Review: While the contenders on JACK JOHNSON's niche - Folk singer-songwriter - get increasingly intrincate and "sophisticated" as the years go by, the Hawaiian citizen is content to rest on his simple laurels. Unadorned acoustic melodies of his ...

Jack Johnson's (almost) second classic

by   title3jimi ,  Feb 15, 2006
Pros: Quite a few amazing tracks, very emotional, incredible songwriting, incredible lyrics
Cons: Two weaker tracks...
The Bottom Line: Well worth the money, almost a classic
Review: You may blame Jack Johnson for making the same sounding music for 3 albums, but aren't we losing sight of what being a musician is all about? Making great music? Well, that's exactly what he does here. If Johnson doesn't expirement musically it's okay ...

Permanently In Between My Ears

by   shaky_jake ,  Jul 28, 2005
Pros: Smooth vocals, catchy songs, relaxing melodies
Cons: Not much change in tone
The Bottom Line: If you want to relax, you need to purchase this CD.
Review: Everybody has those days in their life when they don't want to do much of anything. Maybe you've had a bad week, or things just haven't gone the way that you'd like them to. Whatever the case may be, it just seems like a good day to do nothing. And ...

Sun, Sea & Soothing!

by   yvonne62 ,  Apr 22, 2008
Pros: Happy and upbeat, will leave you with a warm fuzzy glow!
Cons: I don't think guys will be as interested in this album
The Bottom Line: An excellent feel good album with a story to tell by a very gentle story teller!
Review: This is the perfect balm for for any stressed, tired soul! You could listen to this anywhere and feel like you have been transported to a beautiful sun-kissed tropical beach. You can almost feel the sun on your face, the warm sand between your toes and ...

Great Album

by   joey8301 ,  May 11, 2007
Pros: laid back, great tracks, easy listening, great music
Cons: NONE
The Bottom Line: Great album. If you like Jack Johnson check it out. If you have never listened to him this is a good starting place.
Review: I have listened to jack johnson for almost 2 years now...but all the stuff i lisented to before was always live. One day i just decided to buy the studio albums in between dreams and on and on. I was not dissapointed with either. This offers more ...

HE JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER

by   sheenakng ,  Aug 16, 2008
Pros: Any mood that your in, you can listen to Jack Johnson
Cons: This is not a product for the heavy rockers.
Review: Jack Johnson is only getting better with the release of his 5th main stream album. The first song on the album Better Together just sets the smooth and mellow tone for the entire CD. And his track Never Know is the greatest by far on the record. It ...

Jack Johnson... samey but nice samey

by   otfkthx ,  Oct 25, 2005
Pros: Enjoyable, very easy to listen to and relax
Cons: Pedestrian, samey
Review: Yes yes it's all a bit samey but at the end of the day it's still truly beautiful music that you could listen to gleefully forever. If all you're wanting to do is sit down and listen to music and do nothing else, then you're probably gonna get bored ...

Jack Johnson: When The Same Old Same Old Sounds So Good

by   speeddemon531 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Mar 31, 2005
Pros: A long, cool breeze as opposed to a quick blast of wind.
Cons: Mellow doesn't last forever, folks.
The Bottom Line: Folks will hate, but for a cool folk/funk/pop mixture that'll have you tap your feet as you're looking for a tropical drink refill, Jack Johnson's your man.
Review: Remember those York Peppermint Patty commercials from back in the day? "When I bite into a York Peppermint Patty, I feel like I'm transported back into the ice age, and I'm sledding with dinosaurs!" Or something like that. Jack Johnson is ...
