Pros: extremely funny, great history of Larson's work, has a best-of section, intriguing
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: In the world of Gary Larson, this is a must-have, humorous look at his progression as one of the best cartoonists of all time.
Review: 10 years into his great cartoon The Far Side, Gary Larson decided to come out with a great book that showed a lot of the behind-the-scenes activities that took place in order to bring his cartoon to print. In doing so, he wanted to show the ...

Pros: Good selection of classic Far Side strips, interesting look into the strip's history.
Cons: Some strips are bound to not click with the reader until later.
The Bottom Line: Buy this book and hold on to any cherished Far Side memories you may have.
Review: A Far Side anthology. The idea of that may not seem quite right to some people. Some people may claim that trying to cram tons of comic strips into one book ultimately robs them of the whole effect. That's a good argument, yet it becomes a lesser ...

Pros: Tons of hilarious comics plus funny and interesting commentary
Cons: The "Stories" section
The Bottom Line: A deeper look into the warped mind of Gary Larson

Pros: commentary
Cons: thinking of all the panels that could have been
The Bottom Line: A must-have for a fan.
Review: I got this book as a gift a long time ago and I still open it every so often. Besides looking at some of the funniest comics ever to hit the newspaper, Gary Larson provides a few sentences on what went into the ideas and even the history of the Far Side...

Pros: Terrific background and insight, plus funny Far Side cartoons to boot.
Cons: Some things seemed a little forced.
The Bottom Line: Fans of the series should own this, neophytes should begin with one of his other collections.
Review: Quick Facts: PreHistory of the Far Side: A Tenth Anniversary Exhibit. Written by Gary Larson, released :gasp: in late 1989. Cover price about $15, but can be found much cheaper - as of this writing Borders has them on clearance for about $7. ...
